Biologists University Queensland have recorded thousands of hours of sounds emitted by humpback whales off the coast of Queensland, and analyzed to reveal an ancient and secret language of the ocean bottom.

After three years of analysis, researchers have identified at least 34 recurring sounds, some that for just a second, another 10, but all can be linked to specific social different.

Dr Rebecca Dunlop, the team said they have a massive repertoire, and that their communication could be much more complex than previously thought.

This month study is published in the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, where they announced that they have developed the mapping of the entire repertoire of sounds of whales.

Some represent aggression or competition, other attachment or concern. The famous songs of the whales are only performed by males, but apparently social sounds the whales make all males, females and young.

Here are hearing him some music-communication of whales.
