Hurd is the original kernel of the GNU operating system project of the same name founded by Richard Stallman. Hurd began development in 1990 but never released its final version, expected in 2002. Therefore, their place in the GNU operating system Linux Kernel occupied it, and as we all know, the rest is history ... But in reality Hurd development never stopped, as seen in this video produced codeswarm who makes all the contributions repository Hurd from 1991 to 2010 and converted into a 3D animation, where each point represents a change to a file that is aligned around the name of the programmer who made it. The animation is evident by the sudden influx of developers in 2003 and 2004, a new peak in 2008, although fewer people were expecting more activity in 2003. Are we closer to having a complete operating system GNU / Hurd soon? Posted in VivaLinux! , filed in Articles and tagged as GNU / GPL and Video .
