The Shuttle company for some time is marketed desktop computers that stand basically for having a cube-shaped design. Something you never see in the market.

From a year ago over here, Shuttle, has been introducing models like the Shuttle LinuXPC SD3002Q the SD3002W LinuXPC Shuttle and the Shuttle KPC 4800. Basically things have not changed much since then except for one detail is that for this release, the company opted to include in their mini-computers, a touch panel type whose size is 7 inches.

During the month of August, I talked to him first. Specifically, it received the name of Asus S101, and among other interesting aspects of this new ultraportable computer emphasized because, in a sense, came to be much better than the popular Eee PC developed by the same company.

asus-s101

While we did note that echo some of its salient features, this week and through the portal Gizmodo, we have learned absolutely all its secrets.

First, the company should add that Asus has decided to "thin" a little more, making it an ultraportable somewhat thinner than the Eee PC.

Since there may be less with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM, a backlit display via LEDs 10.2-inch and a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, and some SSDs to choose between the 16, 32 and 64GB.

Integra Intel 945GSE a graphics card, ideal for a webcam chat conversations, 3 USB ports and one Ethernet and a memory card reader 4 in 1.

The battery lasts approximately 5 hours of use, and the end user can choose either Windows XP or Linux operating system preinstalled.

Your price: ultraportable with SSD 16GB disk (with Windows XP) $ 699, 32GB SSD (Linux) $ 699 and 64GB SSD (Linux) $ 799.
