Paprika, that how bad it is inside my head? - Detective Konakawa

I'm awake, asleep or both. Who knows. Just know that I am a spectator involved in almost total darkness. However, the light appears and then I get a car just tiny that becomes the center of my attention. After looking forward and stop right in the center, color, emerge from within it a clown with the shrill voice that announces the arrival of his fellow dancers, elephants, musicians, acrobats and circus comrades. The audience, myself included, are happy and amazed with this show so lively, so perplexed.

I have a few minutes watching this man in a suit and a mustache. Obviously looking for someone. The headset on the ear and the eye would betray his intentions. The clown discrete cross words with him. And right now, as predestined, man is the focus of the circus. I saw him in the stands, but moments later, somehow, perhaps magically appeared in a cage in the middle of the track.

Everyone applauds but I start to shake. The man is terrified. And then, as if it were another act of magic, we all become him. All. We keep our bodies, yes, but the face is his. Children, women, circus with the distressed look and whiskers of men alienated run to the cage ...

Now I watch the TV. I suppose, because the man is still there and going to be Tarzan, James Bond, I think, in some rare film star like all of David Lynch. Perhaps the man is trapped in a deep sleep, like me, those who end up when you fall into the abyss.

Paprika (2006, 90 mins.) Is a masterpiece co-written and directed by the late Satoshi Kon , based on the book by Yasutaka Tsutsui, known Japanese science fiction writer, also a writer of the book in which this gem was based anime is the girl who leapt through time . Paprika belongs to that genre of films that are taken up by Hollywood to be presented in a different format, with many air of originality, good amount of special effects and a great budget (say to make Inception ).

Beyond the Hollywood tributes, Paprika stands by itself as an indispensable work of science fiction. One that offers disturbing mixture of topics that go through the science of sleep, consciousness as a manifestation of power (which can be accessed via the device DC Mini), the collective nightmares and alternate worlds without borders between them. Someone has to solve the chaos, someone as Detective Toshimi Konakawa and Dr. Atsuko Chiba, known in the world of dreams as "Paprika".

Needless to say, my recommendation is simple: if you're a fan of using ideas that break your conception of space and time, then runs to download or purchase as Paprika, because you will not regret. Oh, and an extra tip: do the same for all the work of master Satoshi Kon.
