I'm a fan of the bags to carry my laptop. Is an accessory that should be as comfortable as possible considering it's something I use every day and several hours a day, not only to get to and from the office, but when I go to meetings and travel.

Over the years I have tried different brands, different models and styles. In this review will tell you my experiences with a messenger bag for 15 inch Thule. It is important to note that from late 2008 to this day I have only used the same bag, Crumpler The Boomer L, so this review, naturally, make comparisons with this particular model.

Thule is a very popular Swedish brand is focused on the problem of how to run an automobile manufacturing equipment racks, trunks for roof racks to carry watersport accessories, which eventually diversified into other products, including luggage, bags and pillowcases.

The first impression when using the bag is good and tough material that is built, the second impression is that it is bigger than you think. That can be good or bad depending on your personal preferences and daily uses you give to the bag. In my case I have a natural prferencia by those who are thin as possible, but that's a problem when traveling.

The Thule Crossover 12L has no problem in that respect, enough compartments and places to store your stuff, and that's just the best bag, which has two "key areas" to say the least, a front where you store your objects as keys, your wallet, sunglasses, papers and a rear (Thule SafeZone called) where you keep the laptop. It's a much more protected area of difficult access (you unmindful of pickpockets in large cities) and a perfect fit 15-inch MacBook Pro.

Three small but important details that I like about this bag messenger, especially when traveling:

  1. The handle to load by hand when needed, which is usual,
  2. It is "TSA compilant" so that in some airports do not have to get the laptop, which is good news for those who travel a lot
  3. The back of the bag has opening for coupling to the handle of a suitcase, making it even more comfortable when you walk in airports or train stations.

On the other hand, being big is heavier, a little heavier than I expected, especially if compared with my Crumpler. It is also thick, and as with the weight more than I expected, which in some cases it becomes uncomfortable, but again, it's a personal issue than anything else.

Finally something I do not like, but I feel it is a trend in these types of bags: the size of the mark on the outside. I understand that in some countries this is no problem but in Latin America, where such things must pass unnoticed as possible, it may be a reason not to buy it. From the point of view of assessing the design, the bag should speak for the brand, and not vice versa.

Conclusions

8 / 10

Even with these disadvantages the Thule Crossover seems to me the best bags I've come to prove, construction materials and specimens. Although not replace my Crumpler for daily use, is the most comfortable I've used when I'm traveling.

The Thule Crossover 12L costs € 89.95 in Europe and about $ 90 in America.
