Windows 8 asegura no ser nocivo para los juegos

Microsoft has responded by saying that Windows 8 is not bad for PC gaming and ensures that on the contrary, is "a great gaming platform."

The founder of Valve, Gabe Newell stated that the new OS from Microsoft was a catastrophe for the PC world and Blizzard seconded the comment that was not cool for them .

Such sayings of course have worried the gaming community and studies about the possible limitations, difficulty of development and destruction of profit margins that the new operating system could represent.

But a representative from Microsoft has commented that:

With Xbox on Windows 8, we create an easy entry point to the type of entertainment you enjoy, including games. Hold gaming applications prominently avatars, profile, friends and scores and allows them to explore the avatar of his friends.

And in Windows 8, classic games such as Minesweeper and Solitaire system is now called "Xbox Windows" and apply more resources to Windows Phone games. Thus, the acquisition of products for the Xbox 360 is provided, making purchases in queue until it can be downloaded to the console.

The company also has said it will offer compatibility with PC games before, but the fact that they had to make that clarification is disturbing by itself, since it is something that users certainly expect it to happen.

In short, all that is fine, but Microsoft does not touch the initial concerns. Will Windows 8 abridging the freedom of the studios and publishing companies? What problems will the shutdown? Is it really a nightmare from the point of technically and financially? No company should adapt it to a platform titles will spend its resources due to the complicated development.

Brad Wardell, president of Stardock, a company specializing in software for Windows said:

I agree with Gabe. Windows 8 is trying to be everything to everyone and thus failing to be good at anything in particular. We hope to launch software that will make Windows 8 more accessible to users but rather that Microsoft had a more coherent strategy first.

Markus Persson, Minecraft creator joins the voices of discontent:

If Microsoft decides to lock on Windows 8 would be very, very bad for indie games and competition in general.

It is strange that Microsoft take this course when your competition is looking for ways to make its way through the alternative means of play that emerge in order not fall by the wayside. Hopefully the PC will not suffer this fate, especially because it is the platform with the largest number of players in the world.
