According to Media Create Japanese company, specializing in analyzing the digital entertainment market, sales of the Vita in Japan to date are around 535,000 units, of which 321,000 were sold in the first week. However, sales fell sharply then, reaching only 15,000 units per week, being surpassed even by the PSP and far from the total sales of the Nintendo 3DS that has exceeded 4 times in number of units sold. Sony chief financial officer, Masaru Kato said the company has not announced the number of units shipped to stores and sales, which will be revealed "at the appropriate time." But he added that "with respect to units sold, has been 3 weeks and were 500,000. This was announced on January 10. As a start I think we had a very good ... a good start. " Kato added, "including software and hardware, we are doing and do promotions to increase sales, and I think that we have no problem." The official release date of the Vita in the U.S., Canada, Latin America and Europe is 22 February, available in Wi-Fi and a more expensive 3G and Wi-Fi.
