After a pause in this section and to make some adjustments in our editorial, we are ready to present, once again, our weekly summary. Here we review the most read articles from the past 7 days and give you a tour of the most important, if you missed something.

TimeLine

Disabling Facebook Timeline

Facebook introduced a few weeks ago one of the most significant changes in the interface of user profiles, as well as the pages used by brands, products and celebrities to promote their names. The arrival of Timeline has been gradual, but in recent days, all users have been forced to switch to the new look and how to manage their profiles.

One change I think many, but has also generated some backlash and that fails to convince another large number of users. If you belong to this latter group, our friend Randal offers a simple solution to remove the infamous Timeline and return to the old interface.

Portable applications you should know

Smartphones and tablets are becoming more common, we can transport easily and are also loaded with many applications to perform almost any task. However, many continue to have our "big guns" on the computer, and even if not always comfortable taking it to a particular site, we can use a flash drive to always have our favorite applications available on any computer.

Barbara has prepared an excellent list of portable applications that will help us work on any computer as if we were in ours. The collection includes security applications, systems analysis, productivity, utilities, multimedia, Internet and more.

¿Metro Interface in Windows 7?

Undoubtedly one of the biggest news of Windows 8 is its interface and although we have Metro official release date, you may not want to wait until October to start enjoying it.

For users of Windows 7, you can use the browser interface system with the new Metro without complications, thanks to Immersion Explorer. The tool, others colorful, fast and provides a fairly complete navigation experience whether you use a touch screen as if we use the traditional mouse and keyboard.

Discovering the new Hotmail

This week, Microsoft surprised with the launch of Outlook.com, its new email service that aims to replace the old acquaintance Hotmail, providing a new experience of navigation and management of messages.

To make us aware of all the new graphical and functional, our friend JJ has prepared a comprehensive review of the service, so you will not miss any details.

JQuery plugins for use in your web projects

In recent weeks we have shared a lot of useful resources to expedite the work of those who design and develop for the web. Within this toolkit, this week we released Vanity, a complete kit of jQuery plugins ready to use on our projects.

Within the package we can find 7 plugins to easily insert: pagers, tooltips, tabs, placeholders, etc.. In short, a comprehensive resource that you can not stop checking.
