A few hours after the official launch of Google Chrome for Android , the Mountain View, have released a new stable version of the browser to the desktop, thus coming to Google Chrome 17.

Google Chrome has become one of the favorite browser Internet users, waging a strong battle against Firefox and subtracting more and more ground to Internet Explorer. This has been possible thanks to that with each new update from Google give us a browser faster and faster and safer. In this version, things have been different and we can find the following news:

  • Faster browsing: As we introduce a url in the address bar, also known as omnibox, the pages start to load in the background, so that time to press enter, the sites are displayed almost instantly .

  • Increased security: When we try to download a file from the web, the browser will analyze both the file (especially if it's an executable), as the site from which, in order to detect possible viruses and potentially dangerous threats to our team . In case the requested file represents a risk, will receive a warning and the option to discard it.

  • New API for extensions: The extensions developers have a new API will allow, among other things, the use of panels.

Google Chrome 17, also includes fixes to a number of bugs found in previous versions.

After a couple of hours using it, I'm impressed by the improved speed of loading pages, not a joke, it really is something to be grasped. Hopefully improvements such as this continue to come in the next installment.

If you do not use Google Chrome, I recommend you download it now. If you already do not have to download it again, just update it through the browser menu itself.
