Although more and more websites are developed in HTML5, Flash Player is still present in many others that we visited on a regular basis, and one of its main problems are security holes. Now, in order to reduce the risk that users will be victims of one of these bugs, Adobe is working on a way to run Flash Player in Protected Mode in the Firefox browser for Windows Vista and 7, as now done in Google Chrome. This feature would make it much more difficult to exploit vulnerabilities in the digital media player. According Uhley Peleus, Software Engineer at Adobe service, Protected Mode operation would have the same privileges and restrictions implementing Reader X. Reader X is the complement of Adobe that allows browsers to display PDF files and has not been exploited since it was released in November 2010. The success of this solution, in part, is what has led the company to do something similar with Flash Player. However, in the words of Brad Arkin, another team member from Adobe:
It is hoped the launch of this solution, for the second half of this year.
