Like Firefox has been updated in today to version 10, the mail manager from Mozilla, Thunderbird , has also been updated to the new version, like Firefox, comes to the number 10 . The update, as usual, you can download from their website or by accessing the Help menu and clicking on "About Thunderbird" to proceed to download the update (which is around 10.7 MB).

Thunderbird 10 is now available for both Windows and Mac or Linux and Firefox as 10, is also supported by the Mozilla Gecko engine 10. The Mozilla mail manager comes with a very interesting new related accessories. Until now, when actualizábamos our Thunderbird to a new version, when you start the application again, it will review the extensions and plug-ins installed and deactivated those that were not updated (even if they were compatible and work). The truth is it was something annoying and in my case, I used to wait 1 week after the launch of the upgrade until updated to not be without extensions (some as necessary as Lightning). In Thunderbird 10 this problem disappears because, after upgrading, the mail manager from Mozilla will not disable any extensions or plug-ins installed (although I've disabled updating Lightning has forced me to download a new version but at least I have not other extensions disabled).

Another interesting detail is the ability to search the Web from Thunderbird. If you select a word or phrase, for example, in a message and click the right mouse button (to display the menu) we will have the option to "search the web" and open a tab (such as message or browser) with the results of that search term and where we can change the search provider among several available (Google, Bing, Yahoo!, eBay, Twitter, Wikipedia or dictionary of the RAE).

People who are accustomed to deal with keyboard shortcuts will be pleased to know that Thunderbird 10 adds three new keyboard shortcuts. On the one hand, the Ctrl-Shift-A (or Command-Shift-A on Mac) users can add attachments to your messages. Using the Ctrl-Shift-R (or Comand-Shift-R on Mac) can eliminate the anchors of the body of the message and pressing Ctrl and moving the mouse scroll wheel can zoom in on the message content.
