Flipboard is a company founded last year by Mike McCue and Evan Doll whose product is an online magazine of the same name, which provides users with content gathered from social networking and other websites but as typeset magazine to do just one week was available exclusively for the iPad Apple and is now also available for iPhone. This digital magazine and, therefore, this application is an interesting case study because, with a tour of one year, has permeated 5 million users of which 1 million from iPhone and Flipboard have joined in the last week. That, in its first week of life, the iPhone app was downloaded one million users highlights the success of the service and, of course, the desire that was in the IOS platform users can access this journal from their mobile digital making, with much use, users have visited during the last month more than 2,000 billion pages (a figure that exceeds the 650 million pages per month on average than when the application was exclusively for Apple iPad). What is the key to the success of Flipboard on the iPhone? It seems that the dev team approached the project as something practically new since they have developed something that is perfectly suited to the iPhone, like the original Flipboard it was at the iPad. This means that thanks to this re-engineering, the application allows the user to manage it with ease without losing the aesthetic movement in the presentation of content. It seems logical that with such success, the company might be able to focus on other platforms such as Android, however, it seems that is not in their plans to land on the android platform and develop customers for tablets and smartphones. Does it make sense this decision? A Instagram, for example, is costing too much time to get to Android and, in my view, will arrive a bit late for Android (with similar applications already exist), a stance that seems to have adopted Flipboard and that will encourage the emergence of similar services to settle and if you decide to enter Flipboard other platforms, you may find it is too late. In any case, what has made capturing Flipboard to 5 million users (of whom 1 million have been in this last week) is a clear indicator that this application will continue to give than to speak and, surely, we continue to surprise.
