Qriocity 400x268 Qriocity, el servicio de video bajo demanda de Sony, llega a Europa [IFA 2010]

We are well aware that large companies are looking at different ways to generate money through the videos on demand. Many are beginning to rent or sell movies over the network as a struggle against what they call piracy. One of the clearest examples is now Hulu.

Sony does not want to be left behind and now announced that its service called Qriocity (pronounced Curiosity) begin to expand into Europe . Like everything related to technology, it was revealed at the IFA that is taking place in Berlin and said that the streaming platform, which is working since April in the U.S., will start operations in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and UK from autumn

Qriocity supports streaming movie playback in SD and HD and is in the catalog movies big Hollywood films such as 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, MGM, Universal, Paramount Pictures, Disney, Warner Bros and, of course, Sony. What I think is wrong, and that leaves a little off-Sony is that this service only works with Bravia televisions.

The interesting thing is that users of this service will be able to rent the movie they want for no less than 14 days and in that time, you can see how many times they want.

Moreover, another service that is based on the cloud will be presented at year's end. This is powered by Qriocity Music Unlimited and will be accessible through the PS3, VAIO laptops and handheld devices from Sony and that will give users the ability to listen to millions of songs, at least in the company through cloud (yes, the style Spotify).
