For us that a government censor something is truly outrageous, but in some countries, especially in places like China for example, is the most normal thing in the world and every day. Unfortunate but true. This time the news is that in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, suspended the services provided by RIM in smartphones today . This means that almost 400,000 BlackBerry users in the country no more messages can be sent through the BlackBerry Messenger or emails as determined by the Communications and Technology Commission of Saudi Arabia. Why? Because Blackberry would not be complying with regulations of the country east of delivering encrypted data from networks that use (which seems to me entirely logical, considering that what they do and tell your users between them is the problem of its users) and this would compromise national security. Reading a note in the newsdaily I learned that, at least for now, this rule to block outbound e-mail messages and the BBs of Saudi Arabia had not yet entered into force and an anonymous source reported the talks between RIM and the operator that advanced services block a lot. Hopefully these problems are solved and not have end to end censoring BlackBerry users in Saudi Arabia.
