PlayStation Mobile: mobile gaming platform from Sony

Today, Sony officially announced PlayStation Mobile, a platform that will allow users to buy a game and use it in a wider variety of devices. The initiative, which was presented during the Gamescom, is an evolution of what had already been launched in 2011 with the release of the Xperia Play , and bring games via the PlayStation Store to Android devices (smartphones and tablets) and PlayStation certified as the PlayStation Vita , for fans of the consoles.

So, what was once known as PlayStation Suite came to be called PlayStation Mobile, as Sony announced during E3. Among the details revealed during the Gamescom is that users can connect to the new platform using your PlayStation Network ID, and once you buy a game, will be available in all supported devices, including some HTC who are certified.

The CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Jim Ryan, said in a press conference during Gamescom PlayStation Mobile will soon offer both big game developers worldwide, as indie developers whose work is gaining popularity lately thanks to the digital delivery media. The games were shown Lemmings and Super Crate Box.

Also new for the conference was that ASUS and Wikipad add to the list of certified devices manufacturers to take advantage of PlayStation Mobile.
