Orkut for IOS now available on the App Store

Although it seems to have come too late, has finally released the official application for IOS and Orkut is now available for free download from the App Store.

For those who do not know it, Orkut is the first social network that Google had and has been overshadowed first by other social networking giants like Facebook and in recent times by the same Google +. But Orkut is still very popular in many Latin American countries like Brazil, where until recently it was even more popular than Facebook .

As expected, Orkut for iPhone offers the standard functions of any such application, update status, view and send messages, view updates, and browse profiles of our contacts, take pictures and share them directly with your albums, and so on.

It's funny that its release comes just days after the announcement as it has lost its place of honor in the most strategic point, demonstrating that it has taken too long to develop a client for Apple's mobile platform. So far it seems only be available in the U.S. App Store but hopefully this will change soon.
